Seahawks Buzzer Beater Goes Viral

In case you may have missed it over the weekend, Megan Robinson of the Memorial University Sea-Hawks hit a game-tying shot from well past half court to tie their game with Dalhousie University.

With the score 64-62 for Dalhousie and only seconds remaining, Dalhousie makes a free throw to put them up by 3 points.  Memorial had no timeouts remaining, so Robinson took the inbounds pass, raced up the court and heaved a shot from about 60 feet away.  The shot rattled home as time expired to send the game to overtime.

Unfortunately for the Sea-Hawks, Dalhousie ended up winning the game in overtime 80-74.  Robinson ended up with a team-high 21 points.

The announcers however, Theo Staneov and Jeremy Reynolds may have stolen the show however with their over the top call – especially the shout of “Oh the humanity!!”  They definitely brought the enthusiasm, but they may have also blown a few speakers in the process.

Video of the shot has been widely circulated on the Internet and as of this writing the video below has over 21,000 views and has been featured on Yahoo and USA Today’s site, For the Win.
